Lions Clubs are part of community life, in the cities and in the country. Clubs are easily identified by their distinctive Logo, the trademark of our International Association, and the 'We Serve'; motto.
Lions Australia is part of an international association, filled with people who are joined by the common desire to make their communities better, by using their creativity, enthusiasm and energy.
Membership is open to all people of the community in good standing.
This website is where you can find out about your own local Lions Club.
For Example, the Lions Club of Grovedale/Waurn Ponds meets twice a month. We hold a dinner meeting the first Tuesday of the month and a business meeting the third Tuesday of the month, each usually taking about two hours. As with any organisation that needs to run smoothly, there are positions of President, Secretary and Treasurer, with other positions in the club to manage the on-going projects and events.
Other commitments on the part of members will fluctuate according to what projects the club is pursuing at any given time as well as the availability of members to assist.
Some Notes from Lions Clubs International in the Centennial Year:
Meet Our New Global Service Framework
On our way to serving 200 million people per year by 2021, Lions are working in their communities like never before. To help accomplish this incredible feat, we're introducing a new global service framework that focuses the efforts of Lions and Leos on five service areas: vision, hunger, the environment, pediatric cancer and diabetes. The service framework promotes new ways to meet emerging needs in our communities and around the world, but—as always—your club will decide how to best meet your community needs.
