Welcome to the Lions Club of Grovedale/Waurn Ponds Website.

Welcome to this website of the Lions Club of Grovedale/Waurn Ponds.  Feel free to explore the various tabs to get a feel for our activities.

Lions are people, just like you.  We come from all walks of life but have one common objective. That is, to  improve the lot of our fellow community members and to have some fun along the way.

Whenever a Lions club gets together, problems get smaller.  Communities get better.  That's because we help where help is needed – in our own communities and around the world – with unmatched integrity and energy.

Our club is part of more than 46,000 clubs and 1.4 million members around the world making us the largest voluntary service club organisation. We're also one of the most effective.

Our members do whatever is needed to help their local communities. Everywhere we work, we make friends.

You might be wondering, what does Lions membership require of me?

All it entails is the amount of time and energy you feel you can put in.

The organisation is not religiously based and is not politically affiliated.  Basically, Lions are people who enjoy getting together to help others and having a good time while doing it.  At the Lions Club of Grovedale/Waurn Ponds we have two meetings each month of about 2 hours each meeting. There are also various working bees and projects from time to time but the overall time commitment is totally down to the individual member.  From my experience, most people enjoy the company of fellow Lions working together on worthwhile projects and activities.

The Lions Club of Grovedale/Waurn Ponds needs more members to assist with community efforts in the local area; wider efforts on a national front; and also to contribute in a small way internationally.

So, what are you waiting for?  Have a chat to us.  We’d love to have you as a member. You might even like to come along to a meeting to check us out.

If you think you would like to get involved with our club and help with some of the things we are doing, please get in touch via the 'Contact Us' button at the top of the screen or by writing to the Secretary at PO Box 395 Belmont, Victoria 3216.
